it seems to be the one digital camera I have been looking for. The strong and durable metal case even supports dropping in onto the floor ( times), the fate that made me send in my last camera twice.
I used to have a Panasonic Lumix Model, which still works nicely but my girlfriend uses now.
I then decided to give the guys from Samsung a chance and get the new NV10.
However good the reviews were the camera so far did not really satisfy me. It somehow has a bad omen, I got sand in it once and another time it fell down … well not really the cameras fault, but you know what I mean.
Ratings for the new G9 are not yet out but I guess they will be favorable. It is on my get it list at least.
As I mentioned before eating Burgers in the US is a special thing, on the one hand you have the big chains on the other hand the small eateries, which I really prefer. On the sight of small diners I really get hungry:
The sight of this one made me come back several times. It is located in Downtown BostonIn
I have to admit somehow I have a good sense for those kind of places. as this one really seems to be kind of famous and well rated. Once you come into those kind of places the atmosphere takes you in and you are kind aof taken into it already. Unfortunately those places are harder and harder to find as more and more big chains like Dennys, Starbucks etc. provide breakfast service.
This site has a lot of those places and great reviews and pictures of the diners. So if you happen to be in Boston try to visit Charlie for a rich and nice breakfast.
I can agree that sometimes Greyhounding is not really that pleasant. But it makes a huge difference if you have to get to someplace in time on a certain date or if you are just cruising and just being on the road. That is exactly what I did when I bought my 30 day Greyhound Discovery Pass. It set me back 522$, no longer as cheap as in the 70′s but it was worth every cent. From now on I never had to worry about traveling costs any more. For the next 30 days all I had to do was to show m pass. I guess I can say I used it quiet heavily.
How does it work:
Just get your pass at any Greyhound Station. I really recommend getting it on the East Coast. Why? Just because Greyhound Employees, to my mind were much friendlier there and took themselves some time to deal with customers. Choose the timeperiod you would like to travel for (7, 15, 30 to 60 days) and then swipe your card or pay cash.
the quickest way on my Debian system to have asterisk up and running was to use the Makefile on this site, it takes also care of all the downloading (recent versions etc.) and can be used to upgrade as well as to install from scratch. Still might need the rest though.
* Getting Asterisk, mISDN, mISDNuser, chan_mISDN, libpri and zaptel just by typing “make install”
Use the following commands:
wget http://www.beronet.com/downloads/install-asterisk.tar.gz
tar xzf install-asterisk.tar.gz
cd install-asterisk
make install
Referring to this blog post on bylog.de I also made my up my top burgerlist while traveling the US and Canada. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to Carl’s Jr, Greyhound never stopped there. But I will go for it next time I am in California.
First of all I also have to state that all Burgers here taste much better, are bigger and cheaper than in Germany. It is much more a way of life to eat fast food then in Europe. When travelling with the Greyhound you hardly can avoid the cheapest eateries along the way.
Chains:
Thumbs up for Harvey’s, they had a delightful Burger; toppings are added as desired in front of your eyes
Number 2 on the chain list might be Burger King, the Whopper is great here as well
But undoubtedly the best burgers you get in small diners and other places.
Like in the Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago, remember John Belushi in his famous SNL piece:
In order call to Germany and also be called from Germany avoiding high rates on my American Mobile (AT&T charges 1,49 $/min for incoming and outgoing calls) I set up a VoIP solution which turned out to work pretty well.
Why write a blog when you a are native German, expression of ideas and thought would be easier in the mother language? So why write it in English. The reason why I decided to write my posts in this blog in English are of a simple nature:
I have a couple of friends around the world you want to read and maybe someday participate as well on the blog
i feel very much cosmopolitan and so the language of choice is English and not German
